Behind the Scenes: How Sixby the Deer Became a Times Tables Hero

Every story has a beginning—and Sixby’s started with a sketch.

He was a funny little deer with six proud antlers and a cheeky bird perched on top. The moment I saw him, I fell in love.

Then a question sparked:

What if a deer could represent the number six?

That’s how Sixby came to life—a kind, clever character designed to help children learn the 6 times table through storytelling, friendship, and forest adventures.

But Sixby wasn’t alone.

Sitting on his antlers was a tiny bird who quickly became Tweet, his cheerful companion. Tweet chirps in twos—“Tweet, tweet!”—perfect for teaching skip counting and reinforcing multiplication rhythm.

Together, Sixby and Tweet are part of the TT Forest Adventures series, where children meet animal friends, earn badges, and master times tables without drills or screens.
